Why steam
Firm grains that stay separate
Steam processing firms the grain before milling. It holds its shape through a biryani, stays separate in a pulao, and does not turn soft sitting in a warmer — which is why kitchens cooking in volume tend to prefer it.
It is not an aged rice and we do not sell it as one. The steaming gives you a firm grain without the year in storage that ageing needs.

Before you order
Where do you deliver?
Metro Melbourne only, plus free collection from any of our five stockists. We do not ship interstate — freight on a 20 kg bag costs more than the rice is worth, and we would rather tell you that than quote you a price you would not want to pay.
What does delivery cost?
$25 flat within metro Melbourne, and free on orders over $500. Trade orders of twenty bags or more are delivered free.
Can I get a sample before I buy?
If you run a kitchen or a shop, yes — we will leave you a 5 kg bag at no charge. Cook with it, and if it is not right for you, that is the end of it.
Is there GST on the price?
No. Basmati rice is GST-free food in Australia, so the listed price is what you pay.
How should I store a 20 kg bag?
Cool, dry and out of direct light. Unopened and stored properly it keeps for two years. Once opened, an airtight container keeps moisture and pantry pests out.
Do you supply restaurants and shops?
Yes — that is most of what we do. Trade pricing starts at ten bags with an ABN, and comes down through to pallet quantities. Use the trade form and we will send you a price list.
